Elected in 2017 and re-elected for a second term in 2019, Tonia is the first woman to have been elected to represent Gower in parliament.
Since being elected Tonia has taken up a number of issues from constituents with a focus on protecting rural communities and challenging the government to keep their promises about investment in Swansea and Gower. Tonia currently serves as the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer who work to keep cancer at the top of the political agenda and improve cancer services.
Tonia has held a number of front bench roles and most recently has served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. She is a member of the Petitions Committee and the Welsh Affairs Committee.
