Suzanne Mulvehill, PhD

Suzanne Mulvehill, PhD, is Founder and Director of the Female Orgasm Research Institute and Founder of the Women’s Cannabis Project, a policy initiative advancing the integration of women’s health conditions into medical cannabis programs globally. Her work focuses on developing science-based models to better understand why research shows cannabis use is associated with improved orgasmic function, particularly in women with lifelong, acquired, and situational female orgasmic difficulty.

She is the lead author of peer-reviewed research, including Cannabis and the Future of Treating Female Orgasmic Disorder/Difficulty, and a contributing author to the forthcoming Handbook of Cannabis and Related Pathologies, Second Edition. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Cannabis Health News, and other media outlets.

Suzanne leads policy initiatives across the United States and internationally, including the adoption of female orgasmic disorder as a qualifying condition for medical cannabis in two U.S. states. Her work sits at the intersection of science, clinical care, and public policy, with a focus on advancing recognition of female orgasmic difficulty as a medical condition and expanding access to effective, evidence-informed treatments. She is also exploring how changes in orgasmic function may serve as an indicator of broader health conditions, including cardiometabolic disease.
