I studied biochemistry and chemistry in Strasbourg and Paris. After obtaining my Ph.D. in organic chemistry I spend two years in Japan working at the national institute for environmental studies near Tokyo and at the University of Kyoto. After returning to Luxembourg I started at the national health institute (LNS) as chemist and toxocologist. From 2011 to 2025 I was in charge of the “analytical chemistry service” at the LNS. Among the major tasks were the analysis of seized drugs, detemination of illicit drugs in wastewater and the quality assessment of medicinal drugs. I retired by the end of 2025.
