John Brunner is a seasoned entrepreneur and design innovator with over 30 years of experience in product and brand development. He began his career founding Direct Designs in London before moving to Hong Kong in 2006, where he founded Native Union—a company known for elevating tech accessories through considered, functional design. In 2018, he launched Omura in Los Angeles, a next-generation cannabis vaporization platform built on proprietary convection heat technology.
Driven by a belief that design can be a powerful tool for shifting behaviors and perceptions, John has consistently explored how form and function can influence ritual. With Omura, his goal was to reimagine the cannabis experience—moving away from combustion and stigma, and toward a future of responsible, precise, and approachable cannabis use. The result is a brand and technology that align with wellness values while appealing to a broader and more culturally diverse audience.
