We’re happy to announce that HANetf are joining Cannabis Europa London as a Gold Sponsor.

HANetf is an independent provider of UCITS ETFs, working with asset management companies to bring differentiated, modern and innovative exposures to European ETF investors. Via their white-label ETF platform, HANetf provides a complete operational, regulatory, distribution and marketing solution for asset managers to launch and manage UCITS ETFs. This means that all ETFS offered by HANetf are all supported and backed by expert managers. HANetf was founded by serial ETF entrepreneurs Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski in 2017.

In 2020 HANetf launched the The Medical Cannabis and Wellness UCITS ETF (CBDX), Europe’s first medical cannabis ETF in partnership with Purpose Investments. Purpose are a Canadian based ETF manager and are highly experienced managers in the cannabis space.

The CBDX medical cannabis ETF seeks to provide targeted exposure to the rapidly expanding legal medical cannabis industry that is set for further growth as more countries legalise cannabis for medical use. The fund tracks a rules-based Medical Cannabis and Wellness Equity Index from Solactive, consisting of publicly listed companies conducting legal business activities across nine thematic sub-sectors in the medical cannabis, hemp and CBD industries. The largest constituents include Innovative Indus, Scotts Miracle Grow, Jazz Pharma, Amyris & Arena Pharma. A total of 43 global companies are included.

Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring Cannabis Europa London this year. We are very proud we brought CBDX, the first European cannabis ETF. Cannabis experts have constructed this fund and are supported with great content updated monthly. CBDX means investors can buy and sell instantly on the London Stock Exchange and hold in their stockbroking account including SIPPs and ISAs.

ETFs provide a valuable capital markets tool to bring the broadest set of investors to the cannabis sector. This investor group includes retail to institutional investors. ETFs in the US helped underpin the growth of the North American cannabis markets and we expect and hope to do the same here in Europe.”

Hector McNeil, will be sharing his expertise on stage in the ‘The Great European Opportunity’ panel on 11 November.

Cannabis Europa London comes as the tides are changing for the European cannabis industry. With a wave of new legislation and regulatory frameworks being adopted across Europe, now is the time to innovate, invest and learn.
